Gary Evan Crosby was born in Los Angeles, California on June 27, 1933. His father was the famous singer and actor Bing Crosby and his mother Dixie Lee was a singer and actress who had appeared in a few films before she met Bing. He has three brothers Phillip Crosby, Dennis Crosby, and Lindsay Crosby, two half brothers Harry Crosby III, Nathaniel Crosby, and one half-sister Mary Crosby.
Gary entered the entertainment industry when he and his three brothers Philip, Lindsay, and Dennis formed a harmony singing group which they named The Crosby Boys.
As a teenager, he sang the song “Sam’s Song” and “Play a Simple Melody” with his father. He also sang with Louis Armstrong and Sammy Davis Jr. He was also seen in tv shows including The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom and The Ford Show.
