Phipps is originally from Trinidad and Tobago but moved to Quebec, Canada. He joined several Christian-based institutions for his high school and college education.
Phipps attended Kingsway College in Ontario but later moved to Alabama in the US where he joined a Seventh Day Adventist College in Huntsville.
